Description

The funeral of VX13755 Brigadier Basil John Andrew, Deputy Adjutant General, AIF HQ Middle East. A veteran of the First World War, Andrew re-enlisted in April 1940 aged 45. He died of illness at Alexandria on 28 April 1941 and was buried with full military honours at the Chatby Military and War Memorial Cemetery. Written on the verso of the image is "Band of the Polish Regiment, which led the procession". See also 007801.
