Green cloth bound sketchbook containing six drawings from Major Julian Thirkill when deployed to Afghanistan in 2009 to undertake operations as part of the Mentoring and Reconstruction Task Force (MRTF). The image on the verso of page 16 is a daily meeting at Kamp Holland. There are six people attending the meeting, four of the men and the woman are focused on a last man who is lecturing from the front of the room. All the participants are are wearing Australian military camouflage. The wall at the back of the picture depicts three rectangular screens, the first, on the far left, contains a map of the three districts of Uruzgan Province. Beside this was a plasma TV that provided for briefings, presentations and video conferences, the camera for conferences is mounted above the screen. The last rectangle is a whiteboard.
