Collection relating to the International Force East Timor (INTERFET) service of 455793 Captain (later Lieutenant Colonel) Piers Fairfax Cambridge, 10 Force Support Battalion (10FSB), East Timor, 1999.

Wallet 1 of 1 - Includes two typed letters, dated 21 October and 31 October 1999, written by Piers Cambridge and addressed to "Mike & Kris" [referring to Mike Cecil and Krystii Melaine]. The first letter discusses Cambridge's voyage to East Timor on HMAS Jervis Bay (1999-2001), the conditions and destruction in Dili, the masses of refugees, the reaction of the locals to the Australians, and the repair work undertaken by 10FSB. The second letter follows with descriptions of the logistics support required for INTERFET, Cambridge's daily routine, the Gurkahs, the withdrawal of the Indonesian Army (TNI) from Dili, and the beer ration.
