Description

Collection relating to the training and Operation Catalyst (Iraq, 2005-2009) service of Wing Commander Kathryn (Kate) Carlisle. The collection consists of two handwritten diaries (the first covering Carlisle's training in 1985, the second covering her deployment to Operation Catalyst in 2005-06), letters from Carlisle to her family covering the period of 1984-1995, and letters and cards from Carlisle's family to her during her Operation Catalyst service. Additionally the collection contains working notebooks, Officer Reports of Carlisle, certificates, letters of commendation, identity cards, a record of service and training, and a task book.

Wallet 1 of 15: Two handwritten diaries (the first covering Carlisle's training in 1985, the second covering her service in Operation Catalyst in 2005-06)

Wallet 2 of 15: 31 handwritten letters from Carlisle to her mother Rosemary, father, and two younger sisters Bronwyn and Judith from 1984 to 1986 during her training at HMAS NIRIMBA. The letters focus on her training and her involvement in several sporting activities, including the Interservices Hockey Team.
