Description
Lee-Enfield Mk I Cavalry Carbine. Receiver stamped ENFIELD 1898 over LEC over I. Butt stamped with the Enfield Armoury roundel over I/I and the letter B carved into the wood. The weapon is complete with all original parts.
History / Summary
This carbine was carried by Major Julius Bruche who was a Special Service Officer during the Boer War. He was attached to the British Grenadier Guards 1899-1900 and the Victorian Mounted Rifles 1900. He commanded 'A' Squadron of the Australian Commonwealth Horse in 1902. He retired as Major General.
