Crossing Daoe River, Morotai
Description
Artist's letter 27 May 1945 suggests title "Jungle Patrol". Troops of D Company 2/28th Australian Infantry Battalion crossing Daoe River, returning from patrol in Morotai.' The format and subject of this picture was designed to make it suitable for the frontispiece of the Xmas Book, but by the time it was received another image had already been prepared. D Company, 2/28th Battalion personnel from front to rear are: Lieutenant BN Brown; Lieutenant/Colonel A. Virgona, Private P.J. Thompson, Private P. Flynn, Private W.A. Wilson, Private R.K. White; Private W.T. Ryland.
