First POW Camp, Mergui, Burma
Description
The building shown is of reinforced concrete construction; a four window room in the building was used to house 100 prisoners of war. This camp was considered one of the worst Japanese POW camps. Although the camp area was under two acres; there were two large buildings and several outhouses which were to house some 1500 Australian and Allied prisoners of war.
