Outdoor portrait of Djemal (Dschemal/Cemal) Pasha (left) and Oberst Werner von Frankenberg. Djemal Pasha was one of the triumvirate who ruled Turkey during the First World War. He was appointed the leader of the Ottoman Army against the British forces in Egypt, Palestine and Syria. Oberst Frankenberg was the commander of the "Asien Korps" in Palestine in 1917. Photograph possibly taken on the occasion of Kaiser Wilhelm II's visit to Constantinople and the Gallipoli battlefields on 15th-16th October 1917.
