Collection relating to the Second World War service of NX68775 Sergeant James Henchman Clubbe Fitzhardinge, 2/15 Field Regiment, prisoner of war, 1942-1945.
Wallet 1 of 1 - Consists of three documents related to Fitzhardinge's captivity as a prisoner of war to Japan from 1942 to 1945. The collection includes: a typed document from June 1942 outlining the responsibilities of Australian personnel and their standing under British superiors; a hand written nominal roll, dated 28 August 1942, of No. 1 Platoon AIF working on Palembang airport; and a leaflet, "To All Allied Prisoners of War", air dropped in August 1945 to inform prisoners that Japan has surrendered and they will shortly be liberated.
