Description
An Indian seaman swinging the lead off the island of Kais, in the Persian Gulf. This was part of an attempt to extricate the 'Kamoning', which had gone ashore in the gale the previous night. The attempt proved unsuccessful. The Indian seaman was on board the HM Ambulance Transport, Varsova, which was the nearest Australian unit available.
