Description

Recording of the song titled 'Australia's Boys in Khaki and Blue', created as part of the Music and the First World War project. Music and lyrics written by Stanley David Hewitt, who served with the AIF during the First World War.Produced by Chris Latham, with Andrew Goodwin as vocalist and Alan Hicks on piano. This recording was made at Flat Rock Studios, Sydney, on 28 June 2018. The work is performed in the spirit of the time with some changes made for the modern ear.

Chris Latham, producer of this recording, notes: 'This is a pretty grim, propaganda piece. This song was written by a soldier who wanted to describe the achievements of the Australian army. It has all of the propaganda ring of someone who didn't serve.'
