Album belonging to George William Norfolk
Description
Album relating to the First World War service of 1274 Lieutenant George William Norfolk, Australian Electrical and Mechanical Mining and Boring Company. This object was gifted to George William Norfolk in 1917 by members of the Australian Electrical and Mechanical Mining and Boring Company upon Norfolk's return to Australia. It contains messages and poems from Norfolk's comrades and sketches by Sergeant Hugh Clopton Godfrey Thurlow. Thurlow's sketches comment on the reality of war, daily military life, and issues such as conscription.
