Description

Collection compiled by Alan Wood in preparation to write the history of Services Reconnaissance Department (SRD) commissioned by the Z Special Unit Association. This wallet consists of an account handwritten in pencil on pads numbered 20 and 21. Pad 20 includes notes from National Archives of Australia Series: A3269 [Collection of Special Operations Australia (SOA), also known as Inter-Allied Services Department and Services Reconnaissance Department, incorporating records of the Far Eastern Liaison Office], notes include planning in event of surrender by Japan, debriefing method, finance, intelligence, operations projects, Major Tom Harrisson's reports, SRD organisation, propaganda leaflets, press releases and Allied Intelligence Bureau activities, description of snake boats and boat personnel. Pad 21 contains notes from A3269 on history of Technical Directorate, ISD Stores Section, Mosstroop Stores Operations, Stores Directorate, Morotai Base and Flight 200.
