Wallet 1 of 1 - Letter to Patrick Collins from his mother, 1918
Description
Letter relating to the First World War service of 2880 Lance Corporal Patrick Collins, 57th Infantry Battalion, 21 December 1918.
A letter written by Mrs. Mary McIntosh to her son after he was wounded in action and transferred to 3rd Western General Hospital in Cardiff. The letter gives an insight into the lives of families in Australia and their concern for loved ones in the midst of war. Although still recovering from gunshot wounds to his left arm and left buttock, Collins embarked for Australia three days after his mother wrote the letter.
