Description

Althol Meers worked in a factory at Mascot Aerodrome during the war assembling Beaufort Bombers. He was rejected the three times he tried to enlist in the Army on Medical grounds. He talks in great detail about the relationship between the American and the Australian soldiers. He also discusses the larger role played by women during the Second World War. He talks about the production of Australian Aircraft and how they compared with British, Japanese and American planes. He also discusses the Japanese submarine raid on Sydney Harbour and the effects this had on the Australian population.
