Lancaster
Description
Video narration with Harold Everard who was an engineer with No. 463 Squadron RAAF. Mr Evans tells of his experiences serving with 463 Squadron and particulary the 26th raid on Schweinfurt, Germany on the night off 24/25 February 1944. During this raid while on a dummy run over Stuttgart prior to the target seven Lancasters were shot down by one German fighter. Mr Robert Young's brother 409963 Pilot Officer Ian Cedric Young and the pilot were killed and the other five of the crew including Harold Everard were captured and made POWs.
