Description
Poem written by Supply Staff Sergeant Walter Robert Middleton titled `Xmas Day', written at sea on board the transport `Port Macquarie' on route from Sydney to Alexandria. Discusses leaving loved ones behind, and troops' eagerness to confront the `Blood-cursed German'. The poem's title includes the date 1915, but is signed 25/12/14. The signed date has been ascertained as correct.
