Description
Retrospective account of war experiences written in 1923 and revised in 1940. Describes active service in France, particularly life in trenches, until wounded and taken prisoner at Mouquet Farm. Narrative then describes experiences as a POW until the armistice, commenting on poor food and medical treatment, work, morale, attitude of Germans, relations between allied POW's.
