Studio portrait of NX51899 Corporal Edward Victor Emmett, 2/10 Field Ambulance. Corporal Emmett was shot and killed on 1945-06-18 by Japanese soldiers eleven days after escaping from the Sandakan to Ranau Death March with five other Australian prisoners of war (POW). The only survivor of the group was Gunner Owen Campbell, 2/10 Field Regiment.
