History / Summary
Associated with 554 Private Henry McIntosh Hopping Mills, who served with 9 Machine Gun Company and 3 Machine Gun Battalion, AIF. He enlisted on 10 October 1916 and was killed in action on 8 August 1918 at near Hamel. He did not serve with the Light Horse, and may have acquired the Machine Gun Squadron title as a souvenir when his troopship passed through Egypt.
