India. c. 1945. The Governor of Bengal, R. G. Casey, made a special request to an RAF Photographic Reconnaissance Unit (PRU) to take low level aerial photographs of Calcutta's condemned areas. RAF Mosquito aircraft were used to fulfil the request. Mr and Mrs Casey paid an official visit to the Wing Headquarters of the PRU under which the Mosquito aircraft operate. The Governor and Air Marshal W. A. Coryton CB MVO DFC chatted to two of the Women's Auxiliary Corps (WAC) Interpretation Officers at the PRU Wing Headquarters. They are: Section Officer Margaret Munn of Little Chalfont, Buckinghamshire (Photographic Interpretation Officer); the Governor; Air Marshal Coryton; Section Officer Hester Bell of St Johns Vicarage, Reading.
