An example of a photographic souvenir purchased by troops in the Middle East. The Palestine Pound currency has a photograph of NX14682 Sapper Michael Patrick Gallagher, No 3 Railway Construction Company, Royal Australian Engineers (RAE), inserted into the note. In early 1942, No 3 Railway Construction Company, a unit of the Australian Railway and Construction Group, RAE, worked on the Fadaous to El Mina (excluding the Chekka tunnel) sector of the Haifa to Tripoli Railway.
