Description

Panel one of four panels, showing an aerial panoramic view of 1 Australian Logistic Support Group (1ALSG), based at Vung Tau back beach. The block of buildings in the lower part of the image shows the recently completed Peter Badcoe Club (named after Major Peter John Badcoe, VC, killed in Action 7 April 1967) with the out door tables and umbrellas visible. To the left of the club building, the Harold Holt Memorial swimming pool is under construction. Also included among these buildings is the Kevin Wheatley Gymnasium (named after Warrant Officer 2, Kevin Arthur Wheatley, VC, killed in Action 13 November 1965). The beach (not visible) is just below the road at the bottom of the image.
