Description
Collection relating to Private Robert Fraser Minchin (TX9149) who served with 15th Australian Infantry Battalion during the Second World War. The collection consists of two typescript memoirs. The first recounts Minchin's part in a close-quarter engagement between his patrol and Japanese troops near 'Killen's Track' and the junction of the Mivo and Wapiai Rivers, Bougainville Island, 16-17 July 1945. It includes a sketch of the action. The second, titled 'Patrol one, two, seven', recounts events occurring during the last patrol of 15th Infantry Battalion, and the New Guinea Infantry Battalion in Bougainville during the Second World War. It includes a map relating to Patrol 127.
