Description
A Royal Flying Corps (RFC) RE8 aircraft serial B506? which crashed on the battlefield at Westhoek. It was compelled to land through engine failure. The dumbell insignia on the rear fuselage indicates 21 Squadron RFC. The words `Gold Coast No. 7' painted under the cockpit probably indicate the aircraft was the seventh presented to the RFC by the Gold Coast, a then British Colony in Africa.
