Studio portrait of 6875 Private (Pte) Herbert John Trebilco, 15th Battalion from Brisbane, Queensland. A 33 year old labourer prior to enlisting on 9 October 1916, he embarked for overseas with the 22nd Reinforcements from Brisbane on 17 November 1916 aboard HMAT Kyarra. He joined the 15th Battalion in Belgium where he was killed in action at the Battle of Messines on 3 July 1917. Pte Trebilco is commemorated on the Menin Gate Memorial at Ypres, Belgium with others who have no known grave.
