Outdoor group portrait of Second AIF and RAN Commandos of 2 Ordnance Beach Detachment attached to 1 Combined Operations Section, participating in the amphibious training Exercise Octopus. The 'checker' armlet worn by two of the soldiers were worn by ammunition checkers on the beach. Identified from left to right: SX18371 Private (Pte) John Robert Punshon; PM5501 Able Seaman (AB) Thomas Leslie Benjamin; Pte D Allen, PM5043 AB John David Peck; and SX27192 Corporal Donald Rex Dawkins. [Unity Point was the code name for Buchan Point]
