Haigh, Joseph Rowe MBE (b.1880 - d.1957)
Description
Collection relating to First World War service of Warrant Officer Class 1 Joseph Rowe Haigh, who served with Australian Instructional Corps, AMF. Collection covers Haigh's military career (1898-1930) in both the Shropshire Regiment and the Australian Instructional Corps, and consists of service papers, training certificates, and a photograph of Haigh in uniform. Collection also includes a Christmas card from the 'Totally and Permanently Disabled Soldiers' Association of Australia'. Haigh served in the British Army with the 1st Kings Shropshire Regiment, serving in India, Tibet and South Africa before coming to Australia. Haigh later served in France, and upon return to Australia he instructed cadets.
