Collection relating to the First World War service of 3077 Lance Corporal Douglas David Horton, 1 Battalion AIF, France. Collection consists of a handwritten essay which Lance Corporal Horton submitted, under the pseudonym 'Cadmus', to essay competitions at Corps and Divisional level. The essay was awarded a gold medal in the Corps essay competition, "Narratives of operations in France".
