French Korea Medal
Description
French Korea Medal awarded to members of the French military forces participating in the Korean War. The obverse shows shows the Korean ying and yang symbol and four trigrams within the outline of a rose of Sharon, surrounded by an olive wreath. Above is a flaming torch. The suspender takes the form of a pagoda roof. The reverse has raised lettering 'REPUBLIQUE FRANCAISE MEDAILLE COMMEMORATIVE FRANCAISE DES OPERATIONS DE L'ORGANISATION DES NATIONS UNIES EN COREE'. The ribbon has a white central stripe with narrow side stripes in grey/white/red/pale blue.
