"Be Honest With Yourself: Be Certain That Your So-Called Reason is not an Excuse"
Description
British recruiting poster produced by the Parliamentary Recruiting Committee. Depicts a British artillery crew training a large gun onto a plane that is flying overhead. The illustration, which occupies the top section of the poster, is in the style of British silhouette artist, Harry Oakley, who produced several designs for WWI recruiting posters. The black shadows of the soldiers contrast sharply against the blue and white sky behind them. The title, which is a quote from Lord Kitchener, is printed in white letters against a black background and occupies the centre right to lower right sections of the poster.
