Description

9 carat rose gold watch fob presented to Corporal Frank McArthur on his return to Australia from the First World War.
Obverse features a shield with 'F McA' engraved and crossed rifles. These are surmounted with the engraving 'ANZAC' and beneath '1915-1919'.
Reverse is engraved with the inscription 'Pres to Cpl F. McARTHUR M.M. by the Residents of Glenfield on Returning from THE FRONT'.
Stamped below this is, 'W. KERR' and '9CT'

History / Summary

Presented to 3849 Corporal Frank McArthur by the residents of Glenfield, NSW, on returning from the First World War. McArthur enlisted on 28 August 1915 and served with 13th Battalion. He was awarded a Military Medal at Zonnebeke in 1917, and returned to Australia on 13 April 1919.
