Tea cosy : Corporal F McArthur, 13 Infantry Battalion, AIF
Description
Semi-circular tea cosy made of wollen loop stitches on a hessian base. On one side it features a brown koala on a blue background, bordered by red, and on the other side a grey koala on a blue background, bordered by red. The tea cosy is lined with cotton material.
History / Summary
Believed to have been made by 3849 Corporal (Cpl) Frank McArthur while in hospital, as part of rehabilitation from a gas attack. Cpl McArthur enlisted on 28 August 1915 and served with 13 Battalion. He was awarded a Military Medal (MM) in 1917 and returned to Australia on 13 April 1919.
