Ropework doll : Leading Seaman J East, HMAS Arunta
Description
Ropework doll made of red synthetic cord (US Navy gunline material). The figurine has a tuft of red and white 'hair' approximately 40 mm long on its head.
History / Summary
Ropework doll made by Leading Seaman Bosun's Mate (LSBM) Jeffery East, RAN, while serving in HMAS Arunta in the Arabian Gulf. LSBM East apparently produced a number of these figures from US gunline cord as souvenirs of the Arunta's tour of the Gulf as part of Operation 'Slipper', July - December 2002.
