Studio portrait of 4591 Private (Pte) Albert Thomas Sharp, 14th Reinforcements, 5th Battalion, of Appin, Vic and either: 263 Pte Charles Hyde, 39th Battalion, of Coburg, Vic; or 4518 Pte George Hyde, 14th Reinforcements, 5th Battalion, of Newmarket, Vic. Pte Sharp enlisted on 30 September 1915 and embarked aboard HMAT Themistocles on 28 January 1916. On 16 July he was awarded a Military Medal (MM). He returned to Australia on 31 July 1919 having served as a sergeant with the 12th Light Trench Mortar Battery. 263 Pte Hyde enlisted on 5 January 1916 and embarked aboard HMAT Ascanius on 27 May 1916 as a corporal. On 10 August 1917 he was promoted to the rank of sergeant. He returned to Australia on 9 January 1920. 4518 Pte Hyde enlisted on 23 August 1915 and embarked aboard HMAT Themistocles in Melbourne on 28 January 1916. He returned to Australia as a member of 1st Company, Australian Army Service Corps (AASC) on 12 May 1919.
