Description
Detailed diaries and letters describing experiences in South Africa with 2nd Victorian (Mounted Rifles) Contingent, and during the War of 1914-1918 as chaplain to the 4th Brigade, and later senior chaplain to the AIF. Describes duties with men in front line positions, including recording of casualties, burials, stretcher bearing, applying field dressings, relations with and comments on other army chaplains, spiritual assistance to troops.
