Description
Collection relating to the First World war service of 17839 Lance Corporal Archibald Haddow of 11th Field Company Engineers.
Collection Diary in reporter's notebook of Lance Corporal Haddow covering September-November 1917. It describes Haddow's training in engineering support operations and gas warfare in England and, over 14-22 November, his participation in repairing battery dugouts under shellfire at 'Gunner's Farm' in the Ploegsteert/Messines theatre of Belgium. The diary is marked as 'No. 3' but is the only item held.
