Description
Four original personal diaries written by 13377 Sergeant Edgar Don McConnan during his service with the 4th Field Ambulance AIF in 1916, 1917, 1918 and 1919. Covers his training and departure from Australia, voyage to Europe and service in France, including Dernancourt and Bailleau, recreation leave in England and Scotland, conditions of routine and unusual medical and administrative work, billetting in France and relations with local French citizens, relations with other soldiers in unit and the voyage home to Australia.
