Description
Collection relating to the First World War service of 6779 Private David Mitchell Mason, 8 Australian Field Ambulance, Egypt and France. Collection consists of an original handwritten diary kept by Mason from the time of his enlistement in July 1915, arrival and training in Egypt, move to France in mid 1916, conditions in France and Belgium, and finishes while ill in hospital in England in early 1917. Also included with the diary are two typed transcripts.
