Meads, John Hartley (Captain, b.1894 - d.1950)
Description
Diaries written by Captain John Harley Meads while serving with the 18th Battalion during the First World War. Detailed entries describe the front-line infantryman's experiences of patrols and fatigues and his units involvement at the Somme, Passchendaele and Flanders, chiefly 1916-1918. Other items in the collection include a notebook kept by Meads during miliary service in the Second World War and two photographs of him in uniform and civilian clothes.
