Description
Papers of 135 Lance Corporal John 'Jack' William Thomson, 14 Battalion. They include a typed copy of a diary originally written during September 1914-April 1915 and a copy of handwritten letter (9 pages) dated 25 February 1915. The diary covers Thomson's journey to Egypt, training, travel around Egypt and arrival at Gallipoli for active service. The letter was written by Thomson to a friend while Thomson was in the AIF camp at Heliopolis, Egypt.
