Description
Transcript of a diary written by 15134 Sapper Ernest Greenhill, 7 Field Company Engineers during the First World War. Entries cover the years 1916-1917 from embarkation on the troopship SS Aeneas, the voyage to England and training at Perham Downs Camp and Brighton Sea, Essex. Greenhill was sent to France in March 1917 and writes detailed observations in April-May 1917 about his involvement in the second battle of Bullecourt and setting up wiring on the Hidenberg Line.
