Printed silk postcard made in France during the First World War. This postcard features an image of the damaged Cloth Hall in Ypres. The postcard is woven in shades of red and grey to evoke the sense of devastation and ruin.
This is the 'Edition Gabriel' version of this type of card in which the scene has been printed rather than woven.
