Description

A propaganda leaflet produced by the Far Eastern Liaison Office (FELO) during the Second World War. This leaflet is written in Japanese and was distributed to New Guinea and Solomon Islands. It is accompanied by an English translation of the text. In an attempt to discourage Japanese troops, the message draws their attention to the fact that the war theatre has extended considerably and the Japanese Navy does not have the capacity to supply to the troops so widely spread out. It states that Japanese soldiers in New Guinea are suffering from shortages of food and from tropical diseases. The message also raises the question why Japan did not rest content with Manchuria and North China.
