Campaign honour recognising involvement in the fighting in the Somme Valley in 1918. It acknowledges involvement in the defensive actions conducted during the first phase of the massive German "Spring Offensive" in the Picardy sector of the Western Front between 21 March and 5 April 1918, and/or participation in the British offensive operations conducted between 21 August and 3 September 1918.
