Koepang

This honour was awarded for the defence of Koepang, the administrative centre of Dutch Timor, and subsequent fighting. The Australians in Dutch Timor were part of Sparrow Force and fought alongside Dutch troops against the invading Japanese. The battle honour is unique to the 2/40th Infantry Battalion.
