Accessible parking

Accessible parking spaces are located underneath Poppy’s Café in the P1 Visitor Carpark.

Please note there is a small incline on the walk from the accessible parking spaces to the Memorial Entrance.

Passenger pick up and drop off

An accessible pick up and drop off point is available near the Memorial Entrance, on East Road. See our visitor map for more details

Coach parking area path

Some parts of the path from the coach parking area have slightly steeper gradients. It is recommended that people with reduced mobility, including those who use mobility aids, are assisted when traversing the path.

Food and dining

Poppy’s Café is available as an accessible dining option.

Lift access

Lift access is available between the Memorial’s Galleries, located over two levels.

Visitors are advised that lift access to the upper level of the Commemorative Area, including the Roll of Honour, Hall of Memory and Tomb of the Unknown Australian Soldier, is currently unavailable as we work to expand our galleries. A stair lift is available for people with limited mobility.

Assistance animals

The Memorial welcomes trained, registered and visibly identifiable assistance animals when accompanied by their handler.

Seating

Limited seating is available in selected galleries and in the outdoor public spaces.

Please note the Last Post Ceremony is a standing ceremony. However, limited seating is available on request.

Toilets

  • Accessible toilets are located at the Memorial Entrance.
  • Ambulant toilets are located in the Hall of Valour.
  • A parent’s room with a baby change table is located in Aircraft Hall.

Visitors who are Deaf or hard of hearing

Highlights Auslan Tour

Take a self-guided tour, covering selected highlights from our collection. Facilitated on a portable device, the Highlights Auslan Tour is both signed and captioned.

Mobility Aids

A limited number of wheelchairs and walkers are available for free hire for visitors to use during their visit. Please ask at the Information Desk on arrival at the Memorial.
