Accessible parking

Accessible parking spaces are located underneath Poppy’s Café in the P1 Visitor Carpark. Please display a valid parking permit.

A covered ramp connects the underground carpark to the Main Entrance (L0).

An external lift and stairs connect the Main Entrance (via East Courtyard) and P1 Visitor Carpark to the Commemorative Forecourt and Poppy’s Café.

Passenger pick up and drop off

An accessible pick up and drop off point is available near the Memorial Entrance, on East Road. 

Coach parking area path

Some parts of the path from the coach parking area have slightly steeper gradients. It is recommended that those with reduced mobility, including those who use mobility aids, are assisted when traversing the path.

Food and dining

Poppy’s Café is available as an accessible dining option with accessible and ambulant toilets.

Lift access

Internal lift access is available to all levels of the Memorial building, including galleries and the Commemorative Area (Hall of Memory, Tomb of the Unknown Australian Soldier and the Roll of Honour).

External lifts are also available:

  • From the Commemorative Entrance (L2), an external lift offers access to all levels of the Memorial.
  • From the Main Entrance (L0), an external lift offers access to the East Courtyard (L0), P1 Visitor carpark (CP) and the Commemorative Forecourt and Poppy's Cafe (F)

Assistance animals

The Memorial welcomes trained, registered and visibly identifiable assistance animals when accompanied by their handler.

Seating

Limited seating is available in selected galleries and in the outdoor public spaces.

Please note the Last Post Ceremony is a standing ceremony. Limited seating is available on request.

Toilets

  • Ambulant toilets are located in the Main Entrance Foyer (L0), outside the Hall of Valour (L2) and at Poppy's Cafe (external to the Memorial building).
  • Accessible toilets are located in the Main Entrance Foyer (L0).
  • A parent’s room with a baby change table is located in the Main Entrance Foyer (L0)

Highlights Auslan Tour

Explore our iconic collection with a free* Auslan tour, available on a portable device with signing and captions.

The tour covers the First World War, Second World War, and Hall of Valour galleries, with an optional 30-minute Cold War Gallery tour at no extra cost.

Audio devices are available at the Commemorative Desk, Level 2 —no bookings required.

*Free for people who are deaf or hearing impaired. 

Mobility Aids

A limited number of wheelchairs and walkers are available for free hire for visitors to use during their visit. Please ask at the Information Desk on arrival at the Memorial.
