There are several ways in which the individuals and organisations can support the Australian War Memorial, and donations received are utilised for different purposes. Find out more information about each of the different methods, and how they directly benefit the Memorial and the collection.
Monetary donations to the Memorial are always welcome, and all donations over $2 are tax deductible. Your donation will contribute to keeping the spirit alive for future generations by preserving and commemorating the Australian experience of war.
The Australian War Memorial offers sponsorship opportunities that are individually tailored to suit the sponsor. Recognition of support is given at the entrance to the Memorial’s galleries.
Bequests do not fund the ongoing operational costs of the Memorial, but instead support the creation of long-term financial security, allowing us to plan ahead and confidently pursue our vision for the benefit of all Australians now and in the future.
Donating personal items - such as photographs, letters and diaries - is a generous way to support the Memorial, and helps tell an important part of the story of what it means to be Australian. Unfortunately the Memorial is unable to accept all items into the National Collection, and we have developed a guide for those interested in donating material to the Memorial, which includes a checklist and FAQs.
