The Australian War Memorial hosts a large number of commemorative ceremonies and events each year for veteran groups and associations. These commemorations are held within the Commemorative Courtyard or Sculpture Garden.

Request a commemorative ceremony

Before submitting a commemorative ceremony request form, please make sure you read and understand the guidelines below.

Guidelines

Please note:

  • Due to the fulsome commemorative program at the Memorial, requests to conduct commemorative ceremonies or events are to be submitted for consideration and approval by the Memorial's Corporate Management Group.
  • It is recommended that requests are submitted 6-12 months in advance, so it can be considered and the date secured if approved.
  • Event requests will not be accepted during the Memorial's busy periods in the weeks prior to Anzac Day (25 April) and Remembrance Day (11 November) due to the coordination of the national commemorations.
  • Documentations such as public liability insurance, risk management plans, and WHS forms may be required.
  • Requests for annual events or ceremonies must be re-submitted each year.
